What does your investigation entail?
1.) I think that my house might be haunted. What should I do?
It is important to understand that most hauntings pose no threat to the people
in the location being haunted. Even spirits who 'play pranks' usually do so to get attention
or interact with the living and not because they wish to cause any physical harm.
The worst part of a haunting is the fear that the unknown and unexplained generates because
it doesn't fit the normality of our existence. If you think you have a ghost or haunting and you
need answers, contact us here at SIGHT. We will do what we are able to alleviate your concerns.
A skilled team of investigators is available to research and hopefully resolve your issue.
2.) How do I contact SIGHT?
You may send us an e-mail by using the 'Contact' Link
or Call Us at 301-560-1388
or 301-992-9988
If we are unable to go to your location due to distance ,
we can recommend other Ghost Researchers in your area
who may be able to assist you.
3.)How much does SIGHT charge for an investigation?
The cost is FREE.
4.) What kinds of things does SIGHT investigate?
We investigate haunts, voices, poltergeist activity, apparitions & unexplained phenomena, etc.
5.) Where is SIGHT located and how far will you travel?
SIGHT is based in Hagerstown, Maryland. We regularly travel up to 2 hours from
Headquarters, in any direction, and have occasionally gone further. SIGHT will consider
great distances on a case by case basis.
That means we reach much of Maryland, parts of West Virginia, Pennsylvania & Virginia.
We are fifteen minutes from the Antietam Battlefield and nestled amongst many historic
and reportedly haunted places such as Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, Washington DC,
South Mountain and even Hagerstown itself.
6.) What are your credentials?
Lead and Key Investigators of SIGHT are Certified Paranormal Investigators and Ghost
Researchers. The Field Investigators are trained using defined Standards & Protocol to
assure the recipient the utmost in respect and quality before, during and after the investigation.
Our Consultants are experts in their field and bring their talents to SIGHT.
Ranging from Computer Technicians, Programmers, Analytics, Forensics, Electronics, to Photography,
Video and Various other Professions, their skills contribute to a fully-versed team of experts.
7.) What type of equipment do you use?
We usually use the following equipment:
Video Camcorders- We generally would use these when trying to capture visible apparitions
that have been reported.
Digital Cameras- These are used to capture still photographs of anomalies.
EMF Detectors- An electro-magnetic field detector is used to measure the fluctuation of
electro-magnetic energy which is sometimes caused by the pressence of spirits.
IR Thermometer - An infrared thermometer is able to take an accurate temperature
reading of an area at a distance from the investigator using laser technology.
Digital Sound Recorders - EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena) can sometimes be captured
on a digital recording. Ghost "Voices" can be heard under the right circumstances.
Infrared Cameras - We will used two types of video cameras, both motion senstitive as well as sound.
The data is captured in the infrared to not only alleviate interference but to "see" into the darkness.Tri-field Meter - This device differentiates between magnetic and electric energy traces.
8.) How can I be a part of SIGHT?
Membership in SIGHT is currently limited to our focused team of experts. However, if you are interested
in participating, Contact Us with information about yourself and when an opening is available, we may
contact you for an interview.
We try to be as scientific and unbiased as possible when collecting, analyzing and evaluating data.
Please understand anyone who holds a position in SIGHT does not interject their personal religious or
metaphysical views. We adhere to factual data.
9.) Will SIGHT speak at our event or offer workshops?
Of course. We will need information about your group or organization. We will also need to know dates &
location to determine if SIGHT is available to fulfill your request. Please notify us if your group exceeds 25.
We will need sufficient notice of at least one month in order to properly prepare. At SIGHT's workshops,
we can offer quick classes on Photo Analysis, Types of Hauntings, Ghost Research Equipment, or go through
investigation procedures. We can even share some Ghost Stories and Local Legends.
10.) What about your Ghost Tours?
SIGHT currently offers Ghost Tours at historic Harpers Ferry, W.V. and will be adding more
locations to our repertoire in the future. Ghost Tours normally last a few hours and will allow you to visit
many colorful (and haunted) residences. Each stop along the way holds its own amazing tale.
If your group of 6 - 25 people would like to schedule a Ghost Tour, Contact Us for arrangements.
11.) What does your investigation entail?
The following are the most common steps outlining an investigation:The Consultation consists of a simple phone call or e-mail where initial contact is made. A brief understanding
of the issue is presented and arrangements are made to meet in person. The Interview is an opportunity to allow the Lead Investigators to meet with the parties involved, ask specific
questions about the hauntings, acquaint themselves with the location and set the date for the field investigation. The Field Investigation involves a team of SIGHT members going to your location, setting up equipment,
spending 3 - 7 hours (or more if pre-arranged) collecting data and taking readings. The Analysis takes place at SIGHT headquarters where the data collected at the location is scrutinized carefully
and sorted for valid and anomalous evidence. This process can take up to a week. The Follow Up can sometimes be necessary to revisit certain areas of the location and investigate an occurrence
more thoroughly. This helps to eliminate natural events from the realm of circumstance we may not have thought
of before. Other times, we may simply need additional data. The Report is made by appointment at a time convenient to you and our staff where the results of our findings
are reviewed and explained. If you request a copy of any of the data that is part of the Report, you may be charged a
small fee to cover the basic cost of materials you have requested. The Consultation, Interview, Investigation, Follow-Ups
and Report are still completely FREE.
